What is a Plasma Cutting Torch?

A plasma cutting torch is a commonly used tool in CNC plasma cutting services. It can be used to cut metals for a wide variety of purposes and is an excellent tool for quickly and precisely cutting through sheet metal and metal plates. A “CNC plasma” system is a machine that carries a plasma torch and can move that torch in a path directed by a computer. The term “CNC” refers to “Computer Numerical Control”, which means that a computer is used to direct the machine’s motion which allows for complex designs and patterns to be cut.

The advantage of using a CNC plasma cutting torch versus a regular torch is that it allows for a much cleaner cut into whatever material you’re processing, and since the machine is computer-controlled, it eliminates the risk of human error when cutting materials that must meet specific precision requirements.

CNC Plasma Cutters can be used to cut the following materials:

  • Metals up to ¾”
  • Stainless steel
  • Black iron
  • Galvanized metals
  • Copper
  • Aluminum
  • Brass
  • Titanium
  • Diamond plate

Many industries require the precision of a CNC plasma cutting services to meet their demanding quality requirements, and tight tolerances.  Some examples of these industries include aerospace, military/defense, medical, and HVAC.
